Kerry Watters

Kerry brings with her decades of lived experience. She has encountered several different abstinence-based programs over the years with no long-lasting successes and participated in successful Cognitive Behavioural Therapies for PTSD and other trauma based mental illness challenges over the years. Kerry desires to serve Central Vancouver Island in the coming year, bringing forward the collective voice of people who use substances to Vancouver Island.  She has worked with New Leaf Outreach and Moms Stop the Harm in Nanaimo supporting service and community building initiatives. Kerry is a strong supporter of decriminalization, and changes that need to be made within our health system, regarding drug policy, and the need for safe supply.
